About Simoné Beans
My Story
Simone' (McKen) Beans was born in Johnstown, Ohio to her parents, Oswald and Yvette McKen and she is the youngest of 3 children. Her father made a career in the Air Force spanning 23 years, and their family traveled to many duty stations around the world.
Simone's fondest childhood memories include attending Vacation Bible School, attending Church of Christ lectureships with her parents, and ministering to the saints in Rosa Rita, Mexico during mission trips. After her father retired from the military in 1973, the family moved from Sunnymead, California to Orlando, Florida.
Simone’s parents were her greatest example, epitomizing the life of Christ as "Servant Leaders" before that term became popular. She can recall her Mom showing both she and her sister how to dust and clean at their own house, and then being taken to use those skills to help the sick and shut-in in their congregation.
Her Dad was a godly man who really loved the Lord and truly loved his children. Even after the untimely death of his wife, he never wavered in his commitment to their spiritual growth or their education.
After graduating from the University of Florida, Simone' returned to Orlando where she worked for BellSouth as an Assistant Manager in Customer Service.
In 1992, she was transferred to Jacksonville, and a year later met her "True Love" at a singles Bible Study through a mutual Christian friend. Lester was unlike any man she had met. He just didn't attend worship services or claim to know God; rather, Lester was busy in the Kingdom leading souls to Christ and living for God.
Simone and Lester were married in 1994 and in 1996 they were blessed with twin girls, Brittany and Brandy. The girls changed their lives immensely and as her husband often states …"they bring such color to our lives!" Brittany lives and works in Connecticut and Brandy and her husband Paul live and work in Tennessee.
Her favorite scripture is I Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Simone enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, ministering to the sick and shut-in and supporting her husband and children in their endeavors. Lester is an Independent Insurance Agent and together they own and operate - Beans Insurance Agency, LLC which has been in existence since 1994.
Her greatest joy is to see members of the body grow up to mature in the Lord. Simone and Lester currently worship at Westside Church of Christ.
